How to Apply Press on Nails

 Apply Press on Nails

If you are wondering how to apply false nails, the first thing you should know is that applying false nails is much easier than you think. You want to start with clean, dry nails without nail polish. Before you begin, it's always a good idea to do a basic manicure, like pushing back cuticles and filling in ends.

Most false nails come with instructions on how to apply them, as well as all the necessary accessories within the kit. Usually this is nail glue, a nail set with additional elements, and sometimes a nail file and alcohol wipes. Before opening the stickers, find the nail that works best for each finger. Then, starting with the little finger and working your way up to the thumb, apply some glue and press firmly onto the False nail.

How long does pressure last on the nails?

The next question people often ask is how long does nail pressure last? However, the duration of false nails depends on many factors. First, how well you apply them will determine their durability, as well as how strong your hands will be in everyday life. The type of glue you use to affix the fake nails to your fingers can also play a role. The adhesive tabs that come with many decal kits will only last a few days, whereas nail glue can protect your nails for up to two weeks, give or take a few days.

Step 1: Prep Your Nails

The key to applying false nails and making them look different from Press on nails is to give yourself a little manicure beforehand. This includes removing old polish, trimming and buffing the edges, and most importantly, pushing back cuticles. When the prep is complete, make sure your nails are clean and dry.

Step 2: Find the Right Nail Shape

The KISS false nails (my personal favorite) come with little numbers on the back of each nail to indicate the size. Once you find the right fit on one hand, you can find matching number nails for the other. You want the false nails to cover the entire nail bed without hanging out on any side. I found that the easiest way to work was to put ten false nails in finger order on the table in front of me.

Step 3: Glue Them

For the method of application, you can use the adhesive nail stickers that come with some kits or acrylic nail glue to stick your nails together. I've tried both: stickers are tacky, but nail glue holds up better; It is a matter of personal preference. If you are using adhesive stickers, tweezers will be of great help in peeling off the plastic and sticking them to your natural nail; As far as the acrylic adhesive is concerned, be careful not to go too deep into the skin as it is difficult to remove.

Line up the false nail with one finger at a time before applying it to the nail bed; Wait about ten seconds for it to really stick. Work with the little finger first and save the thumb for last - it will make your life so much easier.

Step 4: Shape false nails if necessary

My best tip for making false nails look real and permanent: Shape them. Many false nails are too long or too pointed. If you are not used to these nails or want a different style, all you have to do is take a pair of nail clippers and a file and shape them as you want. It's surprisingly easy to cut off plastic false nails.

Step 5: Color Them (Optional)

If you choose a simple set of false nails but don't like the color, you can paint them. Or, if you want longer nails for your next trip to a professional salon, you can bring your own set of nail extensions and have the manicurist apply and color them for you.

This, along with practicing applying them, will help your fake nails look real and last longer.
